BOARD OF HEALTH SUMMARY REPORT
November, 2011

HOME LOAN / SEPTIC PROGRAM:

New loan inspections evaluated were two (02).
Pre-Existing Loan inspections evaluated were ten (10), an decrease in loans of three (03) year to date from November 2010.
Residential septic permits issued were nine (09).
Commercial septic permits issued were three (03).
Repair septic permits issued were two (02), an increase of thirty-five (35) year to date from November 2010.
Septic inspections were sixteen (16), an increase of nine (09) year to date from November 2010.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:

Plats, Subdivisions, Zone Changes and Variances Reviews:
Staff reviewed eight (08) Cheyenne and Laramie County Site Plans.

FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM:

Food Establishments – Opening/Closing:

Openings:

Food Service Inspections:

Food Service Regular Inspections: 72. Total inspections were 89.
Itinerant (temporary) food service permits issued: 41. Issued for the year: 445.

Itinerant Inspections: 25.

Day Care Inspections: 28.
School Food Service Inspections: 0.
Bed & Breakfast Inspections: 1.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE INVESTIGATION:

Staff investigated (3) communicable disease reported cases.

SWIMMING POOLS:

Staff inspected two (2) swimming pools, spas, or similar installations in November.

PLAGUE:

No activity for the year.

MASSAGE & BODY ART:

No new massage & body art establishments were inspected for the month of November.  Three (3) massage therapists were licensed in the month of November. 

AGENCY MEETINGS:

  • Gary Hickman attended:  Staff (2), Division Directors (2), State EPI (2), PERT, BOH, ERT, County Commissioners, City Council and Governors Water & Wastewater Task Force Meeting.
  • Roy Kroeger attended:  PERT, Staff (4), Division Directors, Commissioners Agenda, Oil & Gas and ERT Meeting.
  • Beth Harris attended:  Staff (3), ERT and City Meeting.
  • Terri Leichtweis attended:  Staff Meeting (3).
  • Jennifer Escobedo attended:  Staff (3) and City Meeting.
  • Amie Merwin attended:  Staff Meeting (3).
  • Tiffany Gaertner attended:  Staff (3), ERT and GIS Tech Meeting.

TRAINING:

  • Jennifer, Tiffany, Terri, Amie, Beth, Roy and Gary all provided training at the Food Safety fundamentals class with sixteen (16) participants attending.
  • Roy Kroeger conducted a well & septic presentation for the Cherry Hills home owners association.

WATER:

Approximately (77) water samples were drawn for November.  (77) were satisfactory.  None were unsatisfactory. 

WESTNILE VIRUS:

The West Nile Virus end of year report for the Emergency Insect Management Grant was started with a completion date of early December and submission to the Department of Agriculture.

FIREWORKS:

No firework stands inspected for this month.
