Born in Greeley, Colorado in 1971.
Moved to Laramie County in 1981 and have been a resident since then.
Graduated from Seton Catholic High School in Cheyenne in 1989.
Went to Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. Was a Cornell National Scholar and a Cornell Tradition Fellow. I played football at Cornell, started for two years, made First Team All-Ivy League my senior year, and played in the Epson-Ivy Bowl in Tokyo Japan. Graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1993.
Went to Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Graduated there in 1997 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
After vet school, I moved back to Laramie County and went to work as an associate veterinarian at Avenues Pet Clinic. In 1999, I purchased Tri-State Veterinary Clinic and have been a practicing veterinarian and small business owner ever since. I have lectured on Arthritis in Hunting Dogs for Pfizer Animal Health and I have had several articles published in Pheasants Forever magazine.
I am married to Beth (McNamee) Thompson from Pine Bluffs. Beth has four kids from a previous marriage, I have three kids from a previous marriage, and we have one kid together. Her two oldest kids are out of the house so we have six kids at home with us.
My hobbies include hunting, camping, bike riding, and coaching youth football.
